90.9 The Bridge presents a new show elevating voices in the local, national and international hip-hop music scene. Hosted by KC creatives Khrystal. and Bobbeh C., GO DJ! premieres April 3 and airs Saturday nights from 10 p.m. to midnight.
"90.9 The Bridge is excited to welcome Khrystal. and Bobbeh C. to the family,” said Bryan Truta, Senior Director of Radio Operations at 90.9 The Bridge. “This addition allows us to continue our pledge to offer a platform of music discovery for a broad range of genres and voices. I’m looking forward to the talent and perspective Khrystal. and Bobbeh C. will bring to The Bridge - and audiences should be too.”
Hip hop is an artistic and cultural movement that has defined many aspects of modern music. Many of today's hip-hop artists provide a vital perspective on American history, culture, and activism. GO DJ! will touch on important topics from the hip-hop community while providing audiences with music selections that popular radio won’t play.
“I hope to bring a spotlight to artists who are doing new and creative things with the art of rap and hip-hop,” said Khrystal. “Hip-hop has always been a way to keep an anthology of the times — there are a lot of artists right now that have some interesting things to say, and I want to give them a platform to speak out.”
“With Go DJ! I intend to use my voice to empower thoughts and perspectives that aren't always represented in music,” said Bobbeh C. “We’re here for the love vibes and inspired energy."
