Veterans Coming Home is an innovative cross-platform public media campaign exploring “what works” for veterans as they return to civilian life. From peer mentoring for student veterans to a new theater company that casts members of the military and first responders, we’ll share approaches and organizations that are making a difference in Kansas City.

LZ Kansas City: Stories & Impact of the Vietnam War

LZs, or landing zones, were used extensively in the Vietnam War to move forces in and out of combat zones. LZ Kansas City tells the stories of local veterans who “landed” back here after the war in three chapters. “Sacrifice & Reflection” looks at the history of the memorials dedicated to veterans. “Women in War” honors the service of women. “The Fight for Peace” follows the vigils, marches and demonstrations of the era.
