Kansas City PBS is proud to announce a new community partnership with There’s Just Something About Kansas City™, a locally produced podcast that captures the heart of the metro through the voices of its most influential residents. Beginning September 7, episodes hosted by legendary broadcaster Frank Boal will air weekly on Kansas City PBS immediately following the Sunday broadcast of Week in Review at 11:30 a.m.

“This partnership is a natural fit for two community-focused organizations,” Said Kliff Kuehl, President and CEO of Kansas City PBS. “Kansas City PBS is honored to share this growing collection of stories that capture the heart and character of Kansas City.”

Frank Boal, a Missouri Sports Hall of Famer and longtime Kansas City sports broadcaster, brings decades of experience and deep local insight to each episode. From championship highs to community milestones, Boal has witnessed the evolution of Kansas City firsthand. Now, he’s turning the spotlight on others, sitting down with pillars of the Kansas City community like Alvin Brooks, George Brett, and Joyce DiDonato to explore what keeps them rooted in the Heart of America.

"We are thrilled to have our podcast become part of Kansas City PBS' local programming lineup,” said Boal, podcast host. “It's an incredible opportunity to share more Kansas City stories with a wider audience through a trusted community partner.”

This collaboration brings the podcast episodes to a television audience, highlighting a shared commitment to authentic, local storytelling. By adapting the podcast for television, the partnership continues to elevate community voices and deepen engagement with the people and culture that make Kansas City unique.
