Actor Bradley Cooper is known for his movies, The Hangover, American Sniper and A Star is Born.
He is less well known for his role as a full-time caregiver for his father. Cooper is now partnering with PBS on a new film that tracks the "invisible, unpaid army" of Americans who look after aging or dependent loved ones.
In conjunction with the two-hour documentary, which premieres on June 26, Kansas City PBS lifts up the hood on the local caregiving crisis that's squeezing thousands of families.
Nick Haines leads a televised town hall at the Kansas City Plaza Library with caregivers and experts.
The Invisible Army: Caregivers in KC features selected clips from Cooper's new film and offers up valuable caregiving advice and tips, including where to get support and financial help.
"Caregiving", a documentary created with executive producer Bradley Cooper highlighting the challenges and triumphs of caregiving in America, will premiere Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 9 p.m. ET on PBS and on the PBS YouTube Channel. An early streaming premiere will be on wellbeings.org, PBS.org and on the PBS App begins Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
