If you're tuning in on Thursday and Friday nights in August for some local new analysis and are disappointed not to see Ruckus and Kansas City Week in Review, don’t fret! Your favorite KCPT public affairs programs are on a brief hiatus while we make way for fundraising and some construction in the studio.
To mark the 25th season of Kansas City Week in Review, the set, logo, music and graphics are all getting a facelift. Proposing, planning, picking and painting are progressing in earnest. We’ll soon return with the news of the day and the trends of the times and take you beyond the soundbites and behind the headlines to discuss the stories affecting our metro.
The studio is a bit of a mess at the moment and anyone who deals with construction and the procuring of materials knows that delays can occur, but we expect Ruckus to return to its regular time — that’s 7 p.m. — on Thursday, Sept. 7. Week in Review will return, new set or not, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8.
One final note for KCPT’s public affairs fans: Mark your calendars and update your DVRs for the last two weeks of September. To make room for the national broadcast of the Ken Burns and Lynn Novick epic documentary, The Vietnam War, some local programs are shifting. Kansas City Week in Review will continue to air at 7:30 p.m., and be immediately followed by Ruckus at 8 p.m on Friday Sept. 22 and Sept. 29.
