KCPT, Flatland and 90.9 The Bridge earn honors at Missouri Broadcasters Association Awards Ceremony

KCPT and 90.9 The Bridge were recognized with three first place honors for Broadcasting Excellence at the Missouri Broadcasters Association 2018 Awards Banquet on Saturday, June 2at the Lodge of Four Seasons. The evening was part of the MBA annual convention and included the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony as well as the MBA Awards Presentation.

"I'm proud of the work of all our teams,” says Kliff Kuehl, President and CEO of KCPT and The Bridge, “It's exciting to see positive feedback on radio, digital magazine, and TV websites and content."


KCPT earned two first place awards for its yearlong local storytelling and engagement initiatives around the impact of the Vietnam War on the Kansas City region. The first was in the Documentary/Public Affairs/Special Program category for LZ Kansas City: Stories and Impact of the Vietnam Warand the second in the Station Sponsored Event category for An Evening with Ken Burns and Lynn Novick.

90.9 The Bridge received a first place award for Best Local Radio Website.

KCPT also earned certificates of merit for Best Local Website for Flatland KCPT’s digital magazine and for the Partners in Education category for KC Kids: Stoney Point North Elementary’s KC Healthy Kidsstory.
