The future of KCI Airport has been talked about for years. Now its fate is finally in the hands of voters. In this extended hour-long edition of Week in Review, host Nick Haines debates plans for a new $1 billion single terminal with proponents and opponents. Plus, in an in-depth news investigation, KCPT's Michael Price takes a closer look at why city leaders so swiftly moved to build a new terminal, dismissing calls for renovating the airport. We compare plans for the new KCI against similar airport projects around the country.

While most of the headlines have been about the future of KCI, there are other key elections being decided this November. Among the most important is who should be leader of Wyandotte County? Mark Holland has been Mayor of the Unified Government since 2013. Does he deserve another four years in the top spot? Amid concerns that the county's economic growth is not working for many longtime residents, David Alvey, an elected director with the Board of Public Utilities, is challenging Holland for the post. Holland and Alvey join Week in Review host Nick Haines to make their case before voters head to the polls on Nov. 7.
