Kansas City PBS is proud to announce it has earned four nominations and one award at the 57th annual Public Media Awards, presented by the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA). The station was recognized for its excellence in community engagement and content creation during the virtual awards ceremony earlier this month on Monday, September 15, 2025.
The “We Are Latinos III” Film Screening received the award for Community Engagement: Local Project. The event, which included a powerful screening and discussion, was celebrated for its success in fostering dialogue and connection within the community.
“We Are Latinos” is a documentary series that celebrates the vibrant Latinx community of Kansas City. Each episode spotlights three remarkable individuals whose lives and work continue to make a lasting impact on the city’s cultural and social landscape. The fourth installment of the series premieres Thursday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. accompanied by a screening on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at the Boulevard Drive-In Theatre.
